PipePatch utilizes the Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) process to eliminate the need for digging by creating a pipe within a pipe with minimal change to the original diameter. Sectional Point Repair

Imagine a surgeon inserting a stent into a heart artery. These stents enable weak arteries to continue flowing normally and prevent the heart from future problems. Much like a stent, PipePatch’s proactive approach provides a structural point repair within a pipe. When compared to digging or lining an entire pipe, the PipePatch No Dig system only repairs areas that require rehabilitation—saving time, investments, materials and hours of labor. PipePatch is able to efficiently make multiple repairs, remain environmentally friendly and may only require as little as one factory trained installer by utilizing trenchless technology. As infrastructure constantly requires maintenance, a point repair is the number one solution for structurally rehabilitating pipes, allowing customers to allocate their time, funds and resources elsewhere.

Structural Integrity

PipePatch exceeds the CIPP Specification ASTM F1216 and restores structural integrity to damaged pipes. This Specification requires materials to be tested for a 50-year minimum service life, verifying that PipePatch is long-lasting and effective in ending infiltration. Because PipePatch creates a pipe within a pipe, the fully cured resin and fiberglass serve as a structural barrier between the interior of the pipe and the exterior environmental conditions. Additionally, many PipePatch products meet NSF and ICC-ES-PMG specifications. PipePatch’s trenchless technology has been tested and proven to withstand pressure, extreme conditions, and time to ensure that the pipe is rehabilitated and preforming exceptionally for years to come.

Increased Flow Capacity

Compared to other point repair systems, PipePatch provides the smallest pipe diameter reduction when rehabilitating pipes with trenchless technology. After PipePatch is fully cured, the material is just 1/8” thick--minimally altering the original diameter. PipePatch’s smooth interior and tapered ends typically improves flow capacity and overall performance of the pipeline, along with providing exceptional corrosion and abrasion resistance. Because of its thinness and smooth qualities, the integrity of the pipe is not compromised and can continue to flow normally.

I originally called Gillece Services to repair a section of a failed sewer lateral. Roots had infiltrated the sewer, resulting in multiple attempts to clean roots and restore flow. Using traditional methods, we would have had to excavate in the street and cut down my favorite Maple Tree. I had additionally installed a new exterior cleanout near my garage and had recently poured a new concrete driveway. Gillece Services suggested PipePatch as an alternative to digging. PipePatch was used to seal off the roots and establish a smooth offset in the pipeline. In looking for a point lining repair solution, it was important for the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) of Greater Cincinnati to find a system that proved to be a long term solution once installed, while being cost effective, and allowing MSD’s in‐house crews to perform the work safely. MSD found that PipePatch is an effective tool for repairing sewer pipes. One of the properties of the PipePatch product that caught MSD’s attention is that it adheres to the existing sewer pipe and its strength ensures durability. The Town of Grand Island Department of Engineering and Water Resources purchased a S1E Pipe Patch unit from E. J. Prescott after seeing a demonstration in the Town of Tonawanda. We had a sewer leak in a location that was going to be very difficult to repair conventionally. We observed a "sink hole" adjacent to and under a resident's driveway. We used our sewer camera to determine that the leak was from an unused wye. The wye is on an 8" diameter VTP sanitary sewer that is approximately 13' deep. In addition, the sewer is only 6' from the edge of East River Road and there is an 8" diameter east iron water main that is located between the road and the sewer about 4' down.

The day we did the repair, we met Adam Frenzel from S1E at our WWTP at 8:00AM. We mobilized and arrived on site around 8:30. The line had been previously cleaned, so we proceeded with the repair process. Adam guided our personnel through the process which went extremely smooth. Once the repair was complete, we re-televised the line and found the repair in the perfect spot and in great condition. From start to finish, the whole process only took 4 hours.

Historic Area of Montgomery, OH Repaired with PipePatch

The City of Montgomery, OH was experiencing a major sinkhole in a very old and historic part of downtown on Montgomery Rd. which served as a main artery for local traffic. Upon CCTV inspection, Tele-Vac Environmental found the culprit; a 24" VCP storm sewer which tied into a 60" galvanized steel road culvert was missing the last two sections of pipe. The engineering department needed something non-invasive, yet structural to rehabilitate this massive void, and keep from having to traditionally excavate Montgomery Rd. Once the measurement was obtained, it was determined that two 24 X 48" PipePatch kits be used to structurally rehabilitate the void and allow for a contractor to put the earth back on top of the pipe that had been washed out.

From set up to tear down, the entire job took roughly six hours (as oppose to days) to get the job completed and traffic was constantly flowing throughout the duration of the two repairs. The City of Montgomery experienced tremendous cost savings, on top of avoiding negative press and public opinion from shutting down a major thoroughfare during the middle of a work week.

Assisted Living Facility is Repaired with CIPP Trenchless Technology in Brook Park, Ohio

In Brook Park, OH an assisted living facility was experiencing major issues with the 4" cast iron main sewer line running directly underneath the main hallway of the facility. After multiple back ups, the facility contacted a local plumber to jet and televise the sewer to see what could be done. After the line was cleaned and televised, it was discovered that the entire bottom of the main sewer was rotted and was majorly hindering flow. Due to the large amount of residents that were suffering from dementia at this facility, the traditional dig and replace methodology was not wanted due to the major disruptions it would have caused the residents during their rehabilitation sessions. In the 50 ft. of pipe that was damaged, there were six tie ins from residents bathrooms. Therefore, a full lining alternative was not a cost effective option due to the reinstating of the laterals. It was determined that the only true, trenchless solution for this particular application was PipePatch.
